Classes we offer
Ashtanga Yoga Peru is the perfect place to begin your yoga journey or deepen your yoga experience. We offer classes, for both absolute beginners through advanced students, taught only by excellent, highly qualified teachers who are dedicating their lives to the study and practice of the ancient tradition of Ashtanga Yoga as taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in India. Our in-depth but playful approach to yoga offers a way for you to experience peace, joy and health and help you connect to your deeper consciousness, which is the heart of yoga.
Beginners: Intro to Ashtanga Yoga Do you have little or no yoga experience? Not knowledgeable on correct alignment in postures? Want to learn more about the spiritual tradition of yoga? Ashtanga Yoga Peru can help! If you answered yes to any of these questions, our Intro To Yoga Course is ideal for you. Ideally suited to guide Beginner’s through the initial journey into yoga. This is a perfect way for you to start yoga in a relaxed, comfortable and nurturing environment. You will learn how the eight limbs of Yoga, such as asana (postures) and pranayama (breathing techniques), provides a blueprint for controlling the mind’s restlessness so that you can enjoy lasting peace. Mysore Mysore is the traditional, authentic and classical way of learning Ashtanga Yoga. It is also the most transformative and safest way to learn and practice Ashtanga Yoga. “Mysore” is named after the city in South India where we have learned this method from our teacher Sarath Ragaswamy, grandson of Sri. K Pattabhi Jois. As you gain strength, stamina, flexibility and focus, poses will be added on to your sequence. Guided The teacher guides the class through the Ashtanga Primary Series. A challenging and energetic class, Ashtanga yoga is the perfect combination of vigorous physical exercise and tranquil state of mind. A guided Ashtanga class follows the traditional lineage popularized by Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois (1915-2009). This class focuses on synchronizing the breath with a progressive series of postures and the result is improved circulation, a light and strong body, and a calm mind. Appropriate for experienced students only. Please ask us if you are unsure whether to attend. Be prepared to sweat!
