hiGreg Nardi has spent many years of dedicated practice under the guidance of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India. Mindful Ashtanga
You wouldn’t leave for a journey without your essential personal items, would you? This class is an exploration of the essential inner practice of the ashtanga method. Take your body and mind on a journey through a series of techniques that highlight mental awareness and special instruction. This class develop a relationship of meditative focus that bridges the body and mind, helping you build strength, coordination, and flexibility. No prior experience necessary, all levels welcome.

Yoga Sutras
What is yoga really? This workshop is an exploration of the source of Yoga. By looking at the philosophical context out of which yoga techniques have arisen, we can gain deep insight into the yogic search for meaning. This workshop will help you understand the traditional framework that inspires the ashtanga yoga practice. It will help you how these practices can have a profound transformative effect in your daily life.

Essential Ashtanga: Discovering the Inner Practice
Through practice and scission, this workshop will give you a theoretical model to understand the body matrix as applied to asana practice. This workshop forms the basis for other techniques workshops.

In this workshop, we will talk about the theory of hatha yoga and how this philosophy views the spine as a central spiritual channel to raise consciousness. We will explore the idea of hatha yoga as a ladder to Patanjali;s yoga of meditation.

By using exercises that bring awareness to the spine and spinal muscles, you will learn the variety of movements available in the spine, and how to create greater movement and stability in the body.

We will explore the relationship between the appendicular and axial skeleton, the bandhas, the muscles of respiration, and the movements of the spine to create a matrix that will help you understand how alignment and movement harmonize to provide the basis for vinyasa, the foundation of the ashtanga practice.
